You will not be impressed

Tried to find something along the lines of Windows Office for letters and documents did not come close to meeting expectations

Unhappy with product

This app is a waste of money. Doesnt even load all the features on my computer (OS 10.7).

Waste of Money

this app is not compatible with Word Documents 2007 and newer. I pushed it in hopes of being able to work on my resume and email recruiters who prefer Word format over PDF. It is nothing like the picture or discription state. Retina resolution..? this was like working with an old analog data system from the 80s. Don’t waste your $10.

Great Tool For Reporters, Photographers & Newsrooms

Somehow I stumbled upon this (I installed it but it would be 6 months before I tried it out) and as a reporter and photojournalist looking for a simple writing tool with lots of features, well this cant be beat. As a reporter, I can write and it spell checks as I write, which should be standard on all word processing programs. What amazes me is that when I am done, I can save my story, with photos embedded in the story file and save it as a PDF file. It was simple to do and worked. I use Evernote when I need an organization tool on all my machines as I write mosty from my iPad4. I havent checked if this app has a version of it for the iOS systems, like my iPad4. If not, it doesnt make a difference as I have apps on my iPad that can read and convert PDF files into say my Office 365 system. I can work on the story in MS Word (Mobile Verson) and can either reconvert it to a PDF file, or leave it as a Word file as I have access to Office 365 on all my machines and on MAC and Windows operating system. I also see that there is a version for a UNIX Server. When I get my Apple Xserve G5 Server up and running with access to a tower with 6 other hard drives, I will have to see how it works. Otherwise, I can always create a version to run in websites I plan to host on this machine. (I also was finishing a new script language that will be easier and in tests so far, it out performs PERL, PHP and C/C++). I wrote it in PowerBASIC, and all I need to provide the web server with the .obj files and link it on my machine. It will be in whatever Unix system I choose, and I also will be loading it with Windows 2000 Professional server (I was dissapointed when many of my $10,000 COBOL compilers (CA-Realia, CA Visual COBOL and Microfocus NetExpress stopped working after XP and especially Windows 7), I was unable to start my mainframe emulator. Now I can and offer it to other clients. Where does Document Writer comes in all this? I will make it my standard editing tool for users to write their own code for their web sites. I love how simple it is to write in, yet it has some horsepower to go with it. I have the business version, and I recommend it to all. I may even write about it when I restart my column that I used to write. Now I have a tool that has a quick learning curve. And I bet this can even replace systems like Quark as this writing app allows you to layout an entire newspaper with a lot less headaches, especially with Quarks limiting feature in fitting there text and photos on a page. As I work through all the features, I will update this post, but I may just write about it and put it in my column that I had started a while back before I was disabled due to two failed surgeries. As zongmeng7423 wrote in his review, I agree that the developer of this app put quality time in its development and has so many features for a writing app. It to will become the most used tool when writing my reports, and converting it as a PDF file with photos means I no longer have to FTP the story and images, and for those papers whose system does not read Meta Data, I have to create a separate file. This witing tool is so rich in features, I can now convert all of what a client needs from me and I can just email it to the editor or directly to the inbox of the copyeditors email. I will be updating this review as I need to read the documentation that is provided, andf I may find more things that expands my use of it. And if this allows macros or Markup tags, I will be updating this with no information. And since the program we used to use, News EDit Pro, no longer exists, the only way for papers to use it is if they made the neccessay updates, then I may be able to convince some of them to use this instead. TGhen they can update their Photoshop from 5.0 to what I and other photographers are now using, install some great actions like the Perfect Photo Suite 7 and some of the DxO tools. This is how important a writing program is at it can keep newsrooms in the dark ages because they fear change will screw everything up. Not with this writing app. By sticking to older machines its forcing us to limit our edits and not to use any of the great photo software out there today.

Simply amazing

This is BY FAR the BEST writing application on the market. Great font choice and size. Makes me excited to write. Well worth the money.

A well-done petit app

I didnt really want any massive program that does fancy stuff and so on. This app is perfect for me since I only need to do a few simple editing and file transferring.

It is so far better then other apps i had

So far I havent had a problem with this. I like it so far. but i will write back when i get more out of it.

Need a easy, secure writing app - This is the best!

I’ve used many of these types of apps, and for printing quality, ease of use and confidence in just simply, saving a version, this is the best.

My new favourite word processor

I have Microsoft Word, Apple Pages, and of course Text Edit, but this App blew them all out of the water. As a professional writer, the simple format and Focus Mode make my work so much easier and enjoyable. I can actually clear my head focus on what I’m doing instead of scrolling and fiddling with format and style. I recommend this app for anyone, especially first user on mac and students.

Works instantly

The app does exactly what it it says and its simple. Price is right. I would recommend to others.

Can’t see myself using another writing application

It’s simple and lets you do what you want to do - write. Highly recommended.

productivity

quick word is a great tool to boost your productivity and creative output by not letting those great thoughts and ideas just slip away.

UNSATISFACTORY

Want my money back!!!

Worse than Microsoft Word

Yes, this is a so-called document writer for “Microsoft Word Education” and the descriptons implies it open several file types with .doc being one of them. Apparently when I tried to open a .docx file the app tells me the document cannot be opened. Since the .docx cannot be open, this means that this app support file types that are for the old educations of Miscrosoft Word; such as Word 2000 and below. Also you cannot create default preferences. Everytime you try to create a new document, you have to create new setting changes all over agan rather than using the prior setting changes you made.

effortless

Im surprised how straightforward this app is. If you are a person who doesnt feel like investing a lot of time studying every time you try a new software, this is for you.

Perfect for me!

If theres one thing I want to say about this app - its indeed very small in size. Yet it doesnt lose any functionality and it works fast.

?

i hate this app do not EEFING BUY…., it was my mistake i hope you do not do the same

compact yet sophisticated

I had thought this app would be just a simp lied version but it turned out to be rather sophisticated.

Better than the Rest - so far

This little word processor is fast, easy, and does what I need it to do. I really liked being able to set up the font and colors to something that doesnt hurt my eyes, as I spend all day looking at images in my real job. Ive found this much more useful than Pages, Bean, and trials of a few of the bigger word processors out there. I just want to write, and not spend my time on obscure commands. This program didnt waste my time. I could use one feature though, a Save As rather than just a Save command. I do more exports rather simply doing a Save As, not a deal killer, but a minor annoyance. There is a reason why this little app has so many positive reviews: It is small, fast, affordable, customizable, and gets the writing job done without annoying you. It is not a piece of bloatware. Its not for those who require some obscure special feature, its for people who just want to write something fast without having a lot of overhead in the way.
